Instagram has been placing a bigger focus on Reels this year and that extends to how users will create their 2022 Recap. Select at least three photos or videos and Instagram will automatically stitch these together into a Reel with narration templates from the likes of Bad Bunny (one of the biggest stars on the planet), Priah Ferguson and DJ Khaled.
Instagram’s recap function last year was known as Playback. It chose up to 10 of a user’s Stories from the previous year, and users could switch out and add new Stories as they saw fit. Users could share memories from the previous year without needing turning to third-party apps thanks to the capability.
Over the past year, reels have experienced significant growth for Meta. According to the business, Reels is currently played more than 140 billion times daily across Facebook and Instagram. In recent months, Meta has improved both of its TikTok rival applications by adding features including tools that make it simpler to construct Reels, an in-app Reels scheduler, and ways to post to Reels from other apps.
